Half-Life's G-Mankin has always been a bit uncanny valley. A straightforward, stone-faced businessman for whom the act of speaking frail actor's line appears to bring great discomfort. Only in an attempt to redesign the interdimensional man of affairs, one fan's remodel has crossed the line into downright creepy.

3D modeller Gmadador posted a flaky new search G-Valet de chambre—one supported his entry appearance in the original Half-Life history. Here's how he looked hindmost in 1998, for context.

And here's Gmadador's redesign, all skinned and sinister. It's certainly a going away from Valve's own Half life 2 update (operating theatre his Sir Thomas More recent "cool uncle" look in Uncomplete-Life: Alyx) for our suited pal, veering away from photorealistic pores to a sleeker, more alien look reminiscent of XCOM's Thin Men.

While it brings me deep discomfort to see a familiar Half-Life sentence human face twisted this way, information technology's also a fascinating way of life to re-approach the character. The creative person has very much honed in along Government man's more unknowable qualities, and information technology's interesting to imagine this approach practical crossways the Half-Life 2 cast off.

As a bonus, the creative person stuck the new model into united of G-Valet's rare HL2: Episode 2 appearances—and while the disconnection 'tween his slimier rework and the base Valve models is stark, your man's looking for creepy-crawly as ever. Perchance even more than and so.

Our Andy K managed to chat with the actual G-man, Mike Shapiro, last twelvemonth. But while he spoke of the unhearable exhilaration of performin such an enigmatic character, Andy wasn't able to stool him do the voice. Pity. Let's hope that interview wasn't a Once In A Lifetime experience.
